Once, long ago, when man were just coming into the middle ages, humans lived alongside some of the world's most powerful creatures. The middle ages was a great time of plenty for the people. A time of prosper for their species and for their companions. Living with them, in harmony, were dragons—enormous reptiles with fiery breath and leathery wings, at peace with the dominate species. The middle ages belonged to man. There was no conflict between the two species for many years. But, it was not all easy. Although this was a great time of prosper for man, their dragons were far worse off. They fought in bloody battles, were shown minimal affection by their masters and nearly always slept in cold, damp basements, cellars, or outside. When they won battles, they may have been given a pat, but when they lost, they were often beaten by their handlers. They were taken for granted and could sense it. A cold feeling it was. It haunted them for years before they decided that they had had all that they could handle. A rebellion was formed among many of the city's dragons. While some stood by their masters, they stood no chance against the enormous alliance that was the rebellion. They were brutally and mercilessly slain by the rebels.
The day the rebellion struck was marked in a sea of blood and a city filled with the dead bodies of humans and the dragons that stood against the rebels to protect their masters from a violent death. The loyal had failed. The age belonged to the rebellion. The alliance was strong, traveling the world in search of others of the human species and those dragons that wish to join them. The humans they found faced the same fate as those back in the city. The world was overtaken by dragons, the new dominate species. Over the years, the dragons had searched the globe in vain for mankind. It was twenty long years of searching for the last of them before they gave in and called off the search conducted by the rebel alliance. They had finished off the human species and had claimed the planet as their own. The world now belonged to dragons.

7/7/09• Alright, time to get down to business. I'm going to be working on advertising, as well as trying to get in touch with some of our old members. Hopefully we'll be seeing some old and new faces around here soon.
7/2/09• We're officially re-opened, after a few days of hard work to get this place in shape. We've now got a totally new plot, a new set of rules, two new skins and side tables. All of our boards and categories are also new.
We are an intermediate to advanced mythical role play revolving around the dragon—a creature known round the world. It has a place in all cultures, even worshiped by some. The plot which guides the entire forum is located in the first panel to your left, if you'd care to read it. The image above is a portal from here to the main forum, if you wish to view it. Please feel free to look around before you decide to either create an account or be on your way. Thank you for visiting and we hope you enjoy your stay here on Power Unrestrained.
A dim glimmer of sunlight shone through the trees above, illuminating the forest floor. It cast eerie shadows across the soil, dancing back and forth, flickering and disappearing. The foliage growing thick both above and below rustled in the light wind that traversed through the trees. It made a hollow moaning sound as it did so, adding to the unsettling aura about the forest this particular morning. The residents could sense the tension. Many of them stayed concealed, although there were a few that put their caution aside and came out to feed. A small group of elk stood scattered round a few yards of forest turf. Most were cows, though there were a few bucks in the herd as well. The one standing farthest from the rest was obviously an adult—one could tell by the size of his antlers. The rest were adolescents, barely into their first set of antlers.
The far off sound of a crack echoed through the forest. It was that of a large animal stepping on a twig or small branch, fairly common in the forest. For the most part, the herd payed no attention to it, although a few of the smaller cows raised their heads, startled by the break of silence. Although, it was anything but something to ignore. The sound was that of a fault in stealth, attempted by a predator far too large to succeed. Although, what it lacked in agility it more than made up for in cunning and pure muscle. It moved slowly through the forest, head leveled with its chest. Its gleaming red eyes glinted in the dim light of the woodland. The enormous shape of its body was broken up by the shadows of the trees and the trees themselves, as well as the rest of the foliage growing on the forest floor. It had picked up the scent of the herd from a while off and had been stalking them for quite some time. It moved as carefully as it could, attempting to remain unnoticed. The attempt wasn't going as planned, but it could be far worse. A creature of its size could easily hurt itself in a tight place such as the forest, choked with trees, roots and small holes along its floor.
It stalked toward the scent of its prey, its stomach close to the forest floor, head level with its chest. The only sounds it made were that of its tail dragging along the soil and even then it was just audible from a few feet away. As it neared a clearing it knew fairly well, it stopped, lowered itself down into the ambush position typically displayed by wolves that are about to attack their prey and emitted a low growl. It took a step forward, stretching its neck to its utmost ability. Its piercing red eyes peered through a bush directly in front of it. Its blood-red pools settled on its prey, grazing in the clearing, completely oblivious to the danger they were in. It licked over its upper lips with its small tongue, eager for the hunt to begin. All conditions seemed right. It stretched its maw open, exposing several razor-sharp teeth. It propelled itself upward, forward and into the clearing. A magnificent beast. It was enormous, covered in dark scales, complimented with leathery wings and long, sharp horns. It was obvious now that it was a dragon—a beast with amazing cunning, strength and intelligence. Today, an elk was going to die. It stretched its wings outward, opening its maw and emitting an ear-piercing roar. The herd panicked and scattered, terrified. But they were far too late now. As it landed with a great thud in the middle of the clearing, it thrust itself into the center of the confusion. It sunk its fangs into the nearest piece of flesh, which happened to be the flank of an adolescent buck. It let out a squeal before tumbling down into a cloud of dust, unable to move its back leg. It was completely helpless. The rest of the herd bolted into the thick of the forest, leaving the small buck to his inevitable fate. The dragon lowered its head and leisurely sunk its fangs into the neck of its victim, aware of the fact that it could do nothing to escape. Blood drenched its dark gray muzzle as it began tearing the flesh from its prey. It laid down next to the body of the small buck, relaxing. It had been traveling since dawn and its paws hurt quite a bit. But it had been worth it. The large amount of meat on this kill would keep him full for a day or two, so he wouldn't have to hunt again for a while.
Kather is a no-non-sense kind of dragon. She doesn't play games, and she takes no prisoners. Unless their willing to become part of her 'posy', as it's been called. At that point, she'll welcome them with open arms, and give them the routine 'nice act'. It's all apart of her plan to one day rule a large, dominating clan.
Appearence:
Kather has a silver hide, with golden scales sprinkled randomly around. She has a crown-like apendage on her head that naturally folds back whenever she's resting. Her wings are slightly whiter than the rest of her body. Not by much, but it bugs her to no end.
Experience:
Kather's great-grandparents, who had been the leaders of a very large clan at the time, were killed by humans during the great war. She vowed to avenge them, and take her place as leader of a large dragon colony.
Animatedlives -a vampire-(meer)kat rpg « Result #3 on Jul 6, 2009, 5:02am »
Everything had been normal...
Once in a time, the Kalahari had been so peaceful like always. Everything was fine, Nature took care of everything. The meerkats were very happy with spending there life in a group or alone. Lone males were roving and looking for the hottest females in the desert. The Kalahari had been a place which they called "home", they felt safe there. Until something supernatural, abnormal and deadly appeared to be living in their home place. Something with pelts in every imaginable color, wings or no wings. And teeth. Big teeth, sharp, fang like. They were creatures that would change the Kalahai forever, and they would play tricks with Nature.
Until they came and changed our lifes forever...
The vampire-kats almost invaded the lands, and nothing would ever remain the same... These immortal creatures that lived forever made the Kalahari their home. Some of them lives in peace with the normal meerkats around, but most were only looking for blood. They wanted to use the many meerkats as their supply, and one by one they began to suck them dry. But the normal meerkats were stronger than they ever thought or dreamed of: kept strong by the memories of how the Kalahari had been before, some of the meerkats escaped. But they never were the same.
Slowly they were changing...
The meerkat that had escaped, felt their bodies changing. Their teeth grew longer and sharper, designed to cut through any imaginable skin. Their pelts became darker, almost black. Their eyes became emotionless, and the meerkats lost their grip on sanity. One by one they became silent killers, striking at night and sleeping at day. Some of the meerkats, however, managed to be stronger than the vampire blood in their veins. They did become vampires, but they kept their sanity and lived like normal meerkats.
Cute babies became little monsters...
The meerkats that had survived the attacks of the vampire-kats began to live their lives again. Some of them breed with another meerkat. That had been one of the mistakes they had made. Their babies were beatiful, really cute, but their personality was like any other vampire-kat. They all became little monsters, craving for blood and to kill anyone who came near them. Only their mothers were allowed to come close. And when they suckled, they didn't drink milk, no the little pups aimed for the vein and suck the blood out of their weak mothers. Most of the mothers got much pups, four or five, causing them to die quickly of bloodlos.
Even a vampire can blood dry...
The skin of the vampire-kats: soft but still strong, like metal. Their bodies were as cold as ice, and their emotionless glance was said to kill anyone who looked at them. A normal meerkat wouldn't be enable to do any damage to a vampire-kat, but they could hurt [i]each other. Like any other meerkat, there were stable groups with fights for dominance. The sharp tooth could easily slice through the tough skins of the kats, and caused much damage. Blood was streaming out of the body, although it didn't stream through the veins anymore. Blood is vital for the survival of the vampire-kats, and if they loose too much they'll die. That was exactly what happened to the unlucky ones.
Changes in the vampires...
Over the ages, the vampire-kats changed. Some of them appeared on day, they were called the daywalkers. Some of the vampires got white skins and wings. They could fly. Some could even tell your fortune, although they mostly lied. For some time they even tried to fit in with the normal meerkats, joining their groups and trying to live on insects. And some tried to stop drinking with blood, all of them died except one. The oldest of the vampire-kats has all the knowledge about the curse, and maybe even knows a cure. But he went missing ages ago, there are rumors that he's hiding in the Dark Canyons, refusing to come in daylight, but nobody ever found him.
What side are you on? Are you a blooddrinking demon or an innocent meerkat?
• There is to be no fighting outside of role play. Harassment of any kind will result in a temporary ban of all parties involved.
• There are to be no comments to offend anyone's race, religion or sexuality. Any comments like this will be removed immediately and will result in some heavy ban time. Be respectful to everyone else, as they are respectful to you.
• You may use explicit language, but try not to abuse this privilege. When posting out of character, swearing is to be kept to a minimum. Although we don't mind heavy language in role play. If you abuse your ability to swear, it will result in a warning by a staff member, or a ban. It all depends on how serious the offense is.
in creation
• You may make up to ten characters. After that, if you want to make another one, you must give one of your current dragons up for adoption. Once it is adopted out to another user, you may make another dragon.
• We currently have only two dragon species to choose from when making your profiles—European and Chinese. European is the most common, while Chinese are fairly rare. As a result, only three of your ten characters can be Chinese dragons.
• We do not have very high standards when creating profiles, but we do have requirements. You must only leave out parts labeled as optional. We expect at least five sentences for temperament, appearance and history, if you decide to include it. If temperament and appearance do not have at least five sentences, there is a fairly low chance of it being approved, unless your sentences are very descriptive.
• There is to be no god modding or power playing. No living thing has ever been invincible and won't be here. While you are not allowed to kill other dragons, no one is immune to being wounded in combat. No one is perfect, either. Everyone has their flaws. Also, in no way are you permitted to control another user's dragon. This takes all the fun out of playing and is not going to be tolerated. Power playing will result in a temporary ban.
in character
• Only two dragons of the same species can mate. Meaning that only Europeans can mate with Europeans, so on and so forth.
• We can appreciate wanting to be literate and wanting to say more than just they mated, but please don't go into too much detail. Meaning, no key words associated with breeding. There is to be no force breeding, either.
• Dominate males rule over their clans. Although the dominate female has most of the powers the male does, she doesn't have as much control over the followers as her mate does. The male is also the only one that may start a war with another clan. Only males can accept challenges, as well.
• Clan wars must be held in the challenged clan's battleground. Battles between clans are generally fought by males, although there are occasionally a few females in the army. These types of fights can only be won when a dominate male calls his subordinates down, or if a staff member decides over one side. Clan battles are generally over territory, but can be over just about anything—prey, control, or just to prove a point.
• Killing another user's dragon is prohibited, even with permission. If you're wondering why, well, the answer is simple. You make a character. You work hard on its profile, are proud of it and start role playing with your new dragon right away, only to have it killed in the first topic you make. There are only two ways to win fights around here—have a staff member judge (which is usually done with major battles e.g. clan wars), or one opponent must back down (which is usually the case in small fights e.g. over a female).
in advertising
• If you wish to post an advertisement, you must make sure that you have either some sort of link back here or a guest-friendly place to link back.
• All websites advertised must be appropriate for all ages. If we find a working link to a website or forum inappropriate in any way, the entire advertisement will be deleted immediately. Thank you.
• If you want to affiliate with us, you must have our banner up on your website. If you do not, your banner will not be put up on our marquee. Also, all banners must be thirty-one pixels in height and eighty-eight pixels in width or they will not be put up. The code of our affiliate is located in our advertisement.
guidelines
• When creating a clan, you must have a dominate pair and at least five followers. Followers do not include your dominate female/male or yourself, nor your offspring. Followers must consist of full-grown dragons. Once you have enough followers, one of the dominates must send me a message with the names of the dominates, offspring (if there are any) and followers. The message must also include the name you want your clan to have.
• When making a dragon, there are a few key things you should know. The difference between European and Chinese is large. Europeans have the average dragon build. Their bodies are muscular, their small heads atop long, slender necks. Their tails are long, their wings are large and they can breathe fire. The most common colors for European are green, black and red. But they can also be white, blue, gray or purple. This is a good example of a European. Chinese dragons are much longer, with large heads mounted on small necks. Their bodies are slender, their legs short and they have no wings. Therefore they cannot fly. Nor can they breathe fire. The most common colors for Chinese dragons are green, red and blue. But they can also be purple, black, tan, white or even shades of pink. This is a good example of an average Chinese dragon.
• When two dragons have mated, they will produce a brood of one to three eggs, with two being the most common number. Once the dragons have bred, one of the parents is to send me a message with the name of the male and the name of the female. This must be sent to me and me only. I will post the status of your offspring in the statistics board. After I've done this, one of the parents' owners may create actual profiles for your hatchlings in the appropriate board, following my guidelines. Offspring are to be role played with their mother until they are a month old (actual time). At which point, an owner of one of the parents may make actual adult profiles for them and they may be role played individually. Either one of the parents may keep them, or put them up for adoption. They must be placed up for adoption if both parents already have ten dragons. If one of them does, they can be given to the one that does not.
A Our form is automatic, meaning that, when you open a new topic, the form will pop up.
Q I'm trying to role play but can't post. What's going on?
A We have a word limit of fifty in all of our role play boards. If you do not have fifty words yet, you cannot post. But, if you have fifty words and still can't post, contact me. Something's wrong.
Q Why are there only two species of dragons to choose from?
A Simply because we're just starting up again. We don't want to have a very wide variety right away. We don't want to make it too confusing. Right now, we have the most common varieties of dragon—European and Chinese—but we will be adding more in the future. When our activity builds up a bit, we'll add another breed.
Q Why is there a limit to how many dragons you're allowed to have?
A Because if we let everyone make however many dragons they want, eventually we'd be flooded in them and the users who role play them won't be able to keep track. We don't want anyone to get stressed out because they can't manage all of their dragons. Although we have a place to abandon unwanted dragons, some users get very attached to their characters to the point where they wouldn't want to abandon them.

Alright, so, right now I'm the only staff member here. If we're going to expand in growth, that needs to change. We have six staff positions open—two administrators, three moderators and an archivist. We also need an assistant owner, but don't bother trying out for that. I plan on choosing my own co-owner. With that said, just fill out the form below, submit it and hope for the best. Good luck.

Name: Kizaru Gender: Male Species: European Image: View Theme: View Temperament:
All emotional scars forgotten, being raised as a warrior has given him a burning aggression and an intense desire to express it. He is a worthy match for just about anyone in combat, expressing little to no fear or mercy for his opponent. Hesitation is a word that means very little to him, as he can be set off very easily and for little to no reason. Once his aggression begins to come out, it is difficult to calm him down. He can fight for hours before he gives in, or gets tired.
Appearence:
A heavily-muscled adult, at full height and weight. His horns are long and sharp, capable of doing serious damage in combat. His wings have been worn over the years, though most of the tears are round the edges and he can still fly as easily as he could when he was an adolescent. Eyes, small and bright red, are mounted on a small head atop a long and powerful neck. His claws are worn, though still sharp and capable of doing fair damage.
Experience:
An old veteran of the alliance, he has been through quite a bit in his lifetime. He has served the now extinct human species and helped to kill them. He has fought many bloody battles with his comrades, some won and some lost. It all started when he was hatched, breaking through the shell of his enormous egg and seeing his first glimmer of daylight. His mother was the first thing he saw, lying calmly against the wall of the barn he'd been born in, nestled in a heap of dry straw. He took his first cautious steps into the world, the straw sticking to his feet, still moist from his egg. His pale gray scales caught the rays of sunlight shining through a half-opened door near the front of the barn. He stumbled toward his mother, letting out chirps of excitement with every step. He grew quickly in his mother's care, turning from a young hatchling to a magnificent beast within ten years. His pale gray scales turned dark, his horns developed and his wings grew large and powerful. His master began to call on him to fight in battles with rival cities, suited in magnificent armor made of iron, metal and silver. But not all was glorious on the battlefield. Fighting with an army of teenagers, not yet at full weight or strength caused them to lose many of their wars. And when they lost, there were consequences. They were beaten by their human handlers. This did not exclude poor Kizaru. He put up with it because his master was good to him otherwise, but one night, back from a losing battle, he was beaten worse than ever. His body was covered in bloody marks. He was filled with both physical and emotional pain. He was completely beside himself. That night, he got no sleep. The next morning, however, there was some news that excited him quite a bit. Word had spread from a city a few miles away that there was a supposed alliance of rebels forming. He felt that it was his obligation to assist them, as he now felt only resentment toward his master. And so he began the long flight to the city in which the rebellion was forming. He has been living among the rebels ever since that day.
